Why I Decided To Start Blogging Again
We have the power to be our own media platform. Own your narrative.

I was inspired to start blogging again a few months ago when I got a comment on my former blog Becoming Brilliance, saying that a post about pouring into yourself resonated with them. It was written by my blog partner Melissa in 2016, but because of a Google search for those keywords, it was found five years later.
I love that we can all have our own media platforms, sharing our stories online. And that we can leverage the power of search engine optimization to reach our target audience who is searching for the content that we’re creating.
When I first started creating content online through Becoming Brilliance, I had no clue what I was doing! While we were passionate about sharing our journey to inspire other women like us, we didn’t set it up as a business from the beginning. Our love for blogging began to fizzle out when the demands of life started hitting us.
We’ve gone on to do amazing things individually, and we aspire to revamp Becoming Brilliance into another venture.
But I realized that I missed blogging! There’s nothing like having a creative outlet that I own and writing just because I feel like it.
Occasionally I write for media platforms like xoNecole, but that requires me to pitch the editor story ideas instead of writing whatever I want to. I’m excited to get back into blogging through this platform.
Even if you don’t love writing, it’s beneficial for you to create written content online. It doesn’t have to be lengthy and you definitely can repurpose other content, such as your social media posts, podcast or YouTube videos to inspire your blog posts. But blogging can be great to get discovered if you’re building a business or your personal brand.
Here are three reasons why you should consider blogging:
It is your own digital real estate. While I love Instagram just as much as the next person, we are just users on the platform. Unless we own stock in Facebook, we don’t own a portion of the social media site, even though we spend so much time on it. Through blogging on your own website, like Squarespace, you can create a digital presence that represents your business or personal brand.
Make that money! There’s so many ways to make money through blogging, including using affiliate links and brand partnerships. That can come as you grow your audience, but the potential payout is worth the time and energy. I work in influencer marketing at my part-time job, and I see first hand how much money can be made through blogging, which also kind of inspired me to create this platform… I want a piece of the pie too, eventually! ;)
Get found forever. Recall my SEO story. If you create blog content, even if it isn’t the main focus in your business, and use keywords that your audience may be looking for, you will continuously reap the benefits.
I hope my blog inspires you to elevate your mindset and marketing!
